Most schools have a starter gathering, Hempfield has the Fall fling. What is the Fall Fling? The Fall Fling is when all the grades, teachers, and staff come together to hang out with friends in the fields, rock climbing, or just going to different booths. Even though it’s the Fall Fling, the weather was warm and bold, the skies were clear and blue, and in the 70s range. The Fall Fling is not just a school gathering, it signifies that teenagers get to have a good time without worry.
Teenagers are classified in the middle of childhood and adultery. This means that they have this constant cloud of stress, confusion, and so much more dreading over them. To have this fresh air is a great source of relieving things. Even if they feel unhappy.
Having the Fall Fling can be different for everyone. Some people could dislike it or love it. Some teens are so focused on their lives they do not realize how to have fun in this exact moment and that is okay. Some teens are living in the moment, breathing in and out, feeling nothing but happiness. That is okay too. The Fall Fling is this reflection for everyone including teachers, it could be joyful or miserable, or somewhere in the middle.
My point is people do not have to be constantly in one state of mind during a big event and you can enjoy it or not in different ways.
In conclusion, The Fall Fling in Hempfield High School brings everyone together and either to leave behind their homework and hang out with their friends, or to cry their hearts out because anxiety is getting to them. Nothing is set and stone for anyone.
