MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) has been around for years and generations, characters, heroes, villains, stories that people love and enjoy. Marvel was created by Stan Lee, who died Nov 12, 2018. Spider-Man the beloved hero to many, a teenager who was gifted with spider-like abilities by a radioactive spider. One of the most popular and beloved heroes as so are many to come.
What is Marvel about?
Bringing people from everywhere together, Stan Lee wanted communities, children, adults, everyone to form a bond over just simple characters that are not that simple. Bookstr admits, “His goal was to try and make heroes feel realistic, to make the ‘unreal real.’” Having Marvel is a privilege that most do not grasp and or appreciate. It has been loved since 1939, but the hate over the years has increased.
Where did it all start?
The Avengers involved Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Captain America. In 2012 the first Avengers movie dropped. It became a popular movie very quickly leaving $1.519 billion in the Box Office. The Avengers were and are still the highlight of Marvel because the thought of a group of heroes fighting evil together is wonderful to people. It brings hope alive, a new world of happiness and heartache too.
When did the hatred begin?
April 26, 2019 was the day Marvel “died”. Almost every Avenger that people gained to adore has passed on. Sacrificed themselves or got their lives taken away. Characters have come and gone from Marvel but once that movie was released fans started to act erratic. They have a right to be upset that their favorites are now gone, but the hate on other Marvel projects is unfair. The biggest two Marvel movies that are getting hatred are: Captain Marvel and The Marvels.
Who is Captain Marvel?
Captain Marvel or also known as Carol Danvers. Captain Marvel is famous for her energy manipulation and heroism. She is the reason why The Avengers have been created in the MCU. She was taken by a space organization called The Kree, her memories were wiped but she contained unusual powers that can be the destruction to the world or worlds. When she arrived on Earth accidentally, she met Agent Fury. They quickly bonded and became friends. Agent Fury has never met a superhuman in his entire life until he met Carol. That’s when his life shifted and hers as well. Carol uses her powers for good, saving people from evil in order to have a balance in universes. Afterwards of her heroism to Earth, Fury got the idea of The Avengers. Elite heroes all over the world or worlds to defeat the evil that will occur.
What hate has Captain Marvel endured?
Captain Marvel is a huge deal for little girls all over, a hero just for them that brings a great source of girlhood to them. All your life you have seen male ledes, so Captain Marvel’s character gives people more awareness that woman ledes are here and matter. Over time, even before Captain Marvel came out in 2019, hate surfaced around her character. Most of the hate is on Instagram, saying “Just by looking at the trailer this gone be the worst marvel movie ever.” Additionally, “Saw this last night the worst crappy poorly written woke POs I have ever seen. This is the beginning of the end of Marvel.”
This type of hate gives Marvel a bad name. Saying who’s more powerful than who is an opinion but when you are actively spreading bad reviews towards a movie that is really great is unnecessary hatred and misogyny.
The actress, Brie Larson, when she achieved the role of Captain Marvel, hate was given to her for absolutely no reason. Sending her outrageous messages and negativity she does not want and need. Brie does not let those things bother her anymore, even though a few years ago she was upset and was about to quit due to the hatred.
But she is proud of portraying Carol Danvers and always will.
Who got the last laugh?
Captain Marvel did. Captain Marvel (2019) got $1.131 billion in the box office with a run time of 124 minutes. In Addition, The Marvels (2023) got $161.5 million in the box office with a run time of 105 minutes.
Haters are always going to hate, but both movies got the love they deserve.
