After reviewing the movie “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” I was filled with a warm feeling of nostalgia. On Friday, October 13th the movie was released and theaters were nearly filled with fans. The movie showcased her performance in Los Angeles, and with a duration of almost three hours, the experience felt similar to the in-person concert.
Taylor Swift performed songs from all of her albums. The transitions to and from sets had people shocked. At one point, she ‘dived’ into the stage, which made the audience laugh. Since it is hard to see up close in the theater, it looks realistic. The big screen and speakers helped make the environment feel like attending a concert.
The experience of watching the movie was unique, unlike any other. The tickets cost almost twenty dollars, which is more expensive than the usual ticket prices, and theaters sold plastic eras tour-themed popcorn buckets and cups. They also had decorated spaces for pictures to remember the experience. Most people like to sit in the back row, but sitting in the front row in the theater felt like I had front-row concert tickets. Aside from a few songs such as, “The Archer” from the Lover album, “Long Live” from the Speak Now album, and some others, the movie included most of the same songs that Swift performed live. Other than those differences, viewing the movie was a cheaper alternative than the concert.
The fans who watched the movie created a fun environment. Similar to the concert, people traded bracelets that had references to Swift’s music. In some theaters, people sang out loud, but others were quiet. The population of fans included adults, teenagers, and kids. People got creative and dressed up to match the different albums.
I recommend “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” to fans who want to relive past eras and see the songs come to life. Taylor Swift wore iconic costumes such as the red heart glasses with the “22” shirt. Fans were brought together from all ages to embrace their childhood eras. If fans are unable to watch the movie in theaters, it will be available for streaming soon.
