A few of Mr. Hanusa’s students recently won awards at Bloomsburg University. Mr. Hanusa said, “It feels awesome and brings a smile to my face to see my students succeed, that’s why I do what I do.” After winning the award one of his students said, “I felt very excited about the award and it was just a huge accomplishment.” Another student said, “It felt very good and we were glad that all that hard work paid off.”
Also according to students, they said that this award will help in the long term, and here are their reasons why. The first student said, “Yes it helps long term, to go again and to build the product and work with other companies.” The second student said, “Yes because getting the exposure and winning those awards will help long term.” The reason why these two students took Mr. Hanusa’s Entrepreneurship 2 class was because the first of the students “liked Mr. Hanusa and . . . wanted to make a product.” The second student “figured that it would look good on a college resume and [wants] to have a career in entrepreneurship.”
However, both students said that they liked the class and that it was a positive environment in the classroom. According to the first student, “It was my favorite class last semester. I got to work with my group and I enjoyed interacting with others.” He also said that the environment was energetic. The second student said, “I liked it a lot, you always got to work on something new and got to work with other people.” He also said that he felt that the classroom environment was very positive.
Both students also explained why they wanted to compete at Bloomsburg University, one said, “We found out that money was involved, and I wanted to try something new and see if it was worth it.” The other student said that his teachers encouraged him to compete.
The overall class of Entrepreneurship 2 and the competition is you learning about pain points that bother or overlook life. Then you come up with a solution to solve those problems and get feedback from others. Eventually, you create a prototype and go through that process a least 2 more times and even more times for competitions. By the end of the semester you will end up with a 3D product.
The class is also designed to prepare you for the competition. The students eventually get told about the competitions but it’s their responsibility to register. Mr. Hanusa also said that this class is good to put on a college resume; they develop confidence to present for college professionals and adults. By the end of the semester of Entrepreneurship 2, the students are at the completion level.
Both of the students agree Entrepreneurship 2 is a good class to take where you get to work with others and build confidence. They also said, “It’s a very good experience on the trip. You get to meet new people, and it’s a fun class. You get to work with others and just have a creative mindset.”
