Lucy Bishop is someone who you might walk by in the halls everyday. But what you might not
know is that she makes and sells her own jewelry. She says, “If it’s creative, I’ve probably either
tried it or put it on my to-do list.” A prime example of this is the wire, beaded, and epoxy jewelry
she makes. She first discovered jewelry making while scrolling on Pinterest and decided to try it
out! Combining her creative side with her love for crafting and helping others, making her own
jewelry seemed like the perfect hobby.
Bishop currently makes many different types of jewelry and says, “I mainly create jewelry out of epoxy resin, but I’ve recently taken up beaded and wire jewelry and friendship bracelets… so I
got a little of everything!” She says that doing this gives her a sense of peacefulness and adds
value to what she creates. She adds that “starting [her] own business was definitely the best way
for [her] to let people buy [her] things!” For Lucy, sharing what she loves to do with others is a
blessing. She discovered that her favorite style of jewelry to make is beaded bracelets and
necklaces as she finds them “satisfying and a quicker process than some of [her] other items.”
When asked what advice she would give to herself when she was first starting out she states, “I’d tell myself to save up as much money as you can, because somehow, jewelry-making is
a super expensive hobby!” She plans to continue making jewelry as well as major in music
education and swim division II in college. She also plans to continue being creative and
open an Etsy shop for her work in the near future. Currently you can find her work on Instagram
and Pinterest at the handle: @moonstonearts823.
