On January 21st 2025, there was a new change for Hempfield students. Whether you’re a Hempfield student preparing for the next semester or a senior preparing for their last semester, it’s crucial to start off on the right foot by finding ways to prepare and stay organized. Finding tips to feel ready for new comings is important because it can make all the difference in academics. To understand this better, I interviewed students and got their response to the question: How do you prepare for the new semester?
Julianna Carrero, a freshman at HHS, advises: “Make sure you go to all your classes beforehand and keep your phone down. Lock in, and try to get good grades.”
This is important because knowing where all your classes are and being comfortable with your new environment can help you feel comfortable overall. Keeping your phone down and focusing also plays a huge role in understanding material and getting good grades because studies show that students with phones out tend to be more distracted.
Lila Forry and Emma Wendler, both sophomores at HHS, advise the upcoming graduates by suggesting to, “Have fun! Make the most out of your time, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.”
This is also important because having fun is the key to being successful, as well as asking for help when you need it.
In conclusion, preparing for the new semester involves organization, good preparation and having fun. By following these tips from your classmates, you will set yourself up for a successful new semester.
