CENSORSHIP & POLITICS
In today’s world we are surrounded by 24/7 news coverage and information is at our fingertips. We are in a digital age where information can be accessed quicker and more easily than in previous generations.
Despite the positive aspects of easy access to information, misinformation also comes with it. Today, misinformation is developed from censorship, which suppresses information everywhere. Social media supplies censorship and misinformation, which is very dangerous, especially today.
Censorship is found in shows, movies, books, phones, and more. It hides the truth about those media to shield the reality of how obscene the government is. Before social media, censorship was still around, but mostly seen in religion, politics, and obscenity.
There is no difference between then and now; censorship is still a manipulative ploy to shield people from the truth around them.
For instance, if a person is only on mainstream media that talks about Taylor Swift or a death of a famous actor or actress, they will not see what else is happening around the world because censorship is being used.
Politics (and ideologies) play a big part in misinformation and censorship—pitting people against each other to follow a person they believe is right and has moral values.
Watson. A’s research states that in May of 2025, 46% of adults in the United States are digesting misleading information daily. If separated by ideology, Democrats are less likely to digest fake news than Republicans. Republicans are 14% more likely to see misinformation.
Republicans are more likely to digest misinformation because they believe that the person who took an oath would actually do something, even after the fact it has been said and warned numerous times that Donald Trump would not do anything he promised. White supremacy plays a part too. In short, White supremacy is when White people believe they are above all other races, and are dominant to those around them.
News platforms like Fox News are used to spoon feed people misguided information written and planned by the government so people can remain distracted as democracy crumbles. This is exactly what Trump wants.
WHAT MEDIA TELLS THE PEOPLE
Charlie Kirk was an American political activist and entrepreneur who had been assassinated on September 10, 2025, at age 31. He was famous for spewing bigotry and hate-filled statements toward abortion, women, LGBTQIA+ community, and more.
People (mainly White people) went on a rampage of grievance for Charlie—idolizing what he stood for because they wanted to erase the minorities since they felt threatened by them.
There had been discourse about who killed Charlie Kirk. People (mainly White) blame the LGBTQIA+ community because they once again feel threatened by anyone different from them. It was later revealed that Charlie’s assassin was Tyler Robinson, a cisgender straight white man.
According to 2KUTZ, Tyler Robinson had a hearing in November to make a ruling and the next court appearance was Thursday—October 30, 2025.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CENSORED & UNCENSORED
Charlie Kirk’s death was not censored at all, unlike the recent death of Demartravion “Trey” Reed, a 21-year-old Black student attending Delta State University.
Trey’s death did not hit mainstream media because people wanted to cover it up. It shows how much more people care for a bigot than an innocent person based on the color of their skin.
Trey’s body was found hanging from a tree near the campus pickleball courts. It has been said that there is no proven fact that Trey was murdered, but it is heavily speculated that he was because of how odd his death was and the known hatred towards Black people in society.
Trey’s death sparked people’s attention because of the known history of the lynchings that occurred in Mississippi.
Unfortunately investigators have ruled Trey’s death a suicide.
The difference between Charlie’s and Trey’s deaths shows how America is. It is filled with White supremacists, and Black people are pushed to the side like nothing. Putting it simply, it is racism. Charlie Kirk’s death was uncensored from the public, yet Trey Reed’s death was censored.
PALESTINE; HOW IT TIES WITH CENSORSHIP
Palestine is a region of Southwest Asia along the eastern Mediterranean. Palestine is also known as the Holy Land—sacred among Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
Palestine ties with misinformation and censorship, especially before and after the recent media recognition on October 7, 2023. Palestine began getting recognition due to the thousands of people being displaced from their homes, and vigorous bombing happening in Gaza.
It has been documented by hundreds of thousands of people on social media what Palestinians are going through, and it has been recently recognized that Palestine is in Stage 5 of Famine, also known as extreme famine, being the highest level of food insecurity.
Palestine is connected to misinformation because even before the recognition, Israel and various news stations have said false information about the current situation of Gaza. For instance, Israel and news stations have stated that there was a ceasefire decision, when it has been violated multiple times and that Palestinians have resources when Israel is purposely withholding food, medicine, and more.
Palestine is also connected to censorship because prior October 7, 2023 not many people know the current situation and was purposely hidden from viewers so we are not subjected to the truth. That is because Israel wanted this image of themselves that they are not committing heinous crimes, and looked at as pure and on the right side of history.
The current death toll of Palestinians according to the Gaza Health Ministry is over 69,000 people. That is not including the missing and people under rumble.
This is imminent and important.
OVERVIEW
In today’s world we are surrounded by 24/7 news coverage and information is at our fingertips. The news we receive is not usually the truth, and censorship prevents real stories from being out there and seen by people.
Everyone is equal, but a lot of people do not see that depending on their views they were taught. Freedom of speech is allowed but spewing hatred, racism, homophobia, and more. That is bigotry.
A majority of people do not want Trump in office for what he incites in America. Palestine needs to be free alongside other oppressed regions and everything is interconnected and does affect everyone whether a person believes it or not.
The censored is just as important or more important as the uncensored and the media will try to form a person’s mind and opinion with misinformation and censorship for a sense of unchecked power.
